PAYMENT POLICY

1. Payment Policy

1.1. HanaTutor provides online language lessons (also referred to as “classes” “lessons”, or “sessions”) through, but not limited to, virtual video communication platforms, HanaTutor App, and this platform.

1.2. The company is responsible for the authorized users and is liable for payment of any services offered to the authorized users through our platform.

1.3. The teaching agreement service will only be activated and in effect, once payment has been made for any lesson booked.

1.4. The user agrees to make all payments to HanaTutor through the payment methods provided on this platform only. HanaTutor will not be held liable for any monetary losses if the user did not adhere to the payment methods stipulated.

1.5. Payment should be made 12 hours before the booked lesson.

1.6. Payment can be made through PayPal, Toss payments. If payment was made through a bank transfer, proof of payment should be sent to HanaTutor via email or WhatsApp for confirmation before the booking can be finalized.

1.7. The user is required to pay for service fees, VAT, or any other additional payments that may apply.

1.8. The lesson fees are set directly by the tutors, and the total cost for each package, which consists of 25-minute and 50-minute lessons, is automatically determined based on the rates set by the tutor. Students can choose the subject and lesson time, and may be able to pay a discounted rate from the tutor's set price. For trial classes, the fees may be free or discounted depending on the tutor. Please note that the maximum number of free trial classes is set at three, but this is subject to change based on company policy.

1.9. For the lessons conducted during the given month, payment will be made to the teacher on the 20th of the following month, primarily through PayPal.

1.10. Payments to tutors from HanaTutor are made via PayPal, Payoneer, etc., using the account information provided during registration. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the account information is entered accurately. HanaTutor is not responsible for any issues arising from incorrect account information; the responsibility lies with the tutor.

2. Exchange Rate Application 

The U.S. Department of the Treasury publishes the Treasury Reporting Rates of Exchange on a quarterly basis. These rates reflect the official exchange values recorded on the last business day of each quarter, and they are typically released approximately two weeks after quarter-end. For example, the exchange rate as of March 31, 2024, was released on April 15, 2024.

So, HanaTutor applies these official quarter-end exchange rates according to a fixed quarterly schedule. The exchange rate published for the most recent quarter-end is applied on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1 of each year.

This policy ensures that all payments, pricing structures, and financial calculations within HanaTutor are applied consistently and based on standardized, government-issued exchange rates.
